Sundance Channel to air Nolte documentary

LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- Sundance Channel says it is planning the U.S. television premiere of director Tom Thurman's documentary "Nick Nolte: No Exit."

Set to air Aug. 2, the film is described by the network as "a deliciously unconventional profile for an unconventional subject, actor Nick Nolte."

In the film, the famously enigmatic actor discusses his rise to stardom, his working methods, his influences and occasional run-ins with the law.

The documentary also features interviews with actor/director Ben Stiller; directors Alan Rudolph and Paul Mazursky; and actors Jacqueline Bisset, Rosanna Arquette and Powers Boothe.

Nolte, 69, has appeared in the films "The California Kid," "The Deep," "Teachers," "48 Hours," "Down and Out in Beverly Hills," "Cape Fear," "The Prince of Tides," "Affliction," "The Thin Red Line," "The Good Thief," "Hulk" and "Tropic Thunder."
