SALT LAKE CITY, June 18 (UPI) -- A lawyer for Gary Coleman's estate says a Salt Lake City mortuary cremated the late actor's body.

"The proceeding was conducted (Thursday) in accordance with Mr. Coleman's desires as expressed in his will that no funeral service, wake or other ceremony memorialize his passing," attorney Robert Jeffs said in a statement issued to E! News.

The 42-year-old actor's ashes are to be stored until a battle is settled between his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend, E! News said.

Officials ruled the cause of Coleman's death last month as a fall, with chronic renal failure as a contributing factor.

The one-time "Diff'rent Strokes" star, whose congenital kidney disease had halted his growth at 4-feet-8-inches, underwent 4 hours of dialysis treatment hours before he hit his head, which led to a brain hemorrhage.
