LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood's elite gathered for the eighth annual "Night Before" gala to raise money for the Motion Picture & Television Fund, organizers say.
Among the attendees Saturday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel were Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holms and Tom Cruise, Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, Robert Downey Jr. and Steven Spielberg, MPTF officials said in a news release.
"The generosity of the film and television community never ceases to amaze and none more so than Hollywood's great legacy of 'caring for our own' through support of the MPTF," Ken Scherer, CEO of the MPTF Foundation, said in a statement.
The MPTF is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to more than 60,000 entertainment industry employees and their families such as healthcare, independent and assisted living, retirement care, childcare and financial support .
