Gosselin lampoons image in video clip

NEW YORK, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. reality television personality Jon Gosselin pokes fun at his notorious persona in a new comedy video posted on FunnyOrDie.com.

Gosselin and his estranged wife Kate are the parents of eight young children and the stars of the reality TV program "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

Since he and his wife announced their plans to divorce last summer, Gosselin frequently has been photographed at night clubs and out on dates.

When TLC announced it planned to limit his role on the show, he sued to halt production, claiming it is detrimental to his kids.

"For the past few months, I have been looking back and thinking: 'This is not me ... . This is not what I want to do.' I just want to go back to the normal, simple life like I used to have," Gosselin said in an earnest tone as the camera was rolling for the FunnyOrDie video. "People always tell me, 'Jon, you can't go back.' But I am going to go back. I'm going to learn from my mistakes. I'm going to move forward and be the righteous person I can be."

Cher's song "(If I Could) Turn Back Time" then plays in the background as Gosselin removes his diamond stud earrings, tosses his hair gel, vodka and energy drinks in the garbage, returns his trademark gaudy clothing to a store and dons a polo shirt and khakis. He is also seen deleting the number of Lindsay Lohan's spotlight-loving dad Michael from his phone, bidding a blonde in a bikini farewell and telling a club bouncer to take his name off the VIP list.
