Santana booked for first 'Lopez' show

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Carlos Santana is to be the first musical performer on the new U.S. chat show "Lopez Tonight," TBS announced.

The late-night series starring comedian George Lopez is to premiere Monday.

Marc Anthony, Morissey, Slash, Akon, LMFAO, Jay Sean, Amerie, Justin Bieber, Orianthi, David Guetta and The Bravery are among the musical artists to perform during the first weeks of the show.

"Lopez Tonight" house band director Michael Bearden is also to play a special tribute to Michael Jackson during the show's first week on the air.

Bearden was the musical director for the concert series Jackson was preparing for when he died last June. He also appears with Jackson in the blockbuster documentary "This Is It."

Along with Santana, the premiere-night guests for "Lopez Tonight" will be comic Ellen DeGeneres, Eva Longoria-Parker of "Desperate Housewives" and NBA great Kobe Bryant.

Future guests include Sandra Bullock, Ray Romano, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Alba, Charlie Sheen, Queen Latifah, Ted Danson, Andy Garcia, Larry David, Taylor Lautner, Oscar de la Hoya, Kelly Osbourne, Floyd Mayweather, Eva Mendes, Arsenio Hall and Kathy Griffin, TBS said.
