Paris Jackson denounces 'white supremacist jerks' in VMA speech

Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Paris Jackson, the daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, denounced white supremacy during a speech at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday before announcing the winner for Best Pop Video.

"If we were to all stand up united as one, our impact would be 'yuuuge.' Believe me," Jackson said, mocking President Donald Trump. "And that's not fake news."

"We must show these nazi, white supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan, we have zero tolerance for their violence, their hatred and their discrimination," she said. "We must resist."

Jackson then announced the winner for Best Pop Video, which went to Fifth Harmony for their hit song, "Down", featuring Gucci Mane.
