Usher releases new single 'Believe Me,' announces tour

"UR" refers to Usher's initials; the singer was born Usher Raymond IV in 1978.

ATLANTA, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Usher has released new single "Believe Me" from upcoming album UR.

The 35-year-old singer performed with Nicki Minaj at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and debuted the track in a Pepsi commercial after the ceremony. Usher also announced the first stops on his UR Experience tour on Tuesday.

UR is Usher's eighth studio album, and a followup to 2012's Looking 4 Myself. "Believe Me" is the third single to debut from the new record; "Good Kisser" was released in May, and "She Came to Give It to You" with Nicki Minaj followed in July.

The UR Experience tour will take the singer to Atlantic City, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Seattle and Toronto, and more stops and tour dates are expected to follow.
