RIO DE JANEIRO, June 9 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez will no longer perform at the 2014 World Cup opening ceremony.

The 44-year-old singer was scheduled to sing her World Cup anthem "We Are One" with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, but announced her withdrawal on Sunday. Representatives for the star offered no specific explanation, and FIFA officials cited only "production issues" for her departure.

"Regretfully, Jennifer Lopez will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies," a statement from her representative read.

"We Are One" has received a lukewarm response from Brazilians due to its "big pile of clichés." Pitbull and Claudia Leitte will perform the song sans Lopez at the opening ceremony Thursday.
