'Night' tops U.S. record chart

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is No. 1 on the U.S. record chart, Billboard.com reported Thursday.

The song is the fifth from Perry's "Teenage Dream" album. This marks only the second time in Billboard history an artist has had five No. 1s from the same album. Michael Jackson's "Bad" was the first to hit the milestone.

"Hitting No. 1 is always a great moment, but when it turns into a small piece of history, you're reminded of how many millions of people are connected to each other by even one tiny event," Perry told Billboard in an exclusive statement. "Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Ever since I was 9 years old, singing into my hairbrush, I've dreamed very big dreams, but today is bigger than my dreams. What a nice first birthday present for 'Teenage Dream!'"

Coming in at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 is LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, followed by Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" featuring Christina Aguilera at No. 3, Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" at No. 4 and Bad Meets Evil's "Lighters" featuring Bruno Mars at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are Lil Wayne's "How to Love" at No. 6, Pitbull's "Give Me Everything" featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer at No. 7, Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" at No. 8, Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" at No. 9 and OneRepublic's "Good Life" at No. 10.
