MIAMI, June 13 (UPI) -- Saxophonist Clarence Clemons, best known for his collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, has suffered a stroke at his Florida home, Rolling Stone reported.

The magazine said it is unclear how severe the weekend stroke was or what condition Clemons was in afterward.

The 69-year-old E Street Band musician has undergone treatment for numerous medical ailments, including double-knee replacement and spinal fusion surgery, during the past decade, Rolling Stone said.

In addition to dozens of Springsteen records, Clemons also can be heard playing two songs on Lady Gaga's latest album "Born This Way." He performed "Edge of Glory" with Lady Gaga on the season finale of "American Idol" last month.

The magazine said Clemons had been scheduled to play the national anthem at the opening of Game 2 of the NBA Finals last week, but had to cancel because of a hand injury.
