Foo Fighters to play at MTV Movie Awards

NEW YORK, May 20 (UPI) -- Foo Fighters are booked to perform at next month's 2011 MTV Movie Awards show at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., organizers said.

Taking the MTV Movie Awards show stage for the first time since 2005, the rockers will debut their next single, "Walk" off their seventh studio album "Wasting Light."

Foo Fighters will join hip-hop artists Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz as the musical acts featured in this year's live show.

Scheduled to be presenters are Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

Jason Sudeikis is to serve as host of the June 5 event.
