EL PASO, Texas, March 30 (UPI) -- A Texas prosecutor has recommended singer Willie Nelson settle up a marijuana possession charge by pleading guilty and singing a song in court.

Nelson, 77, was arrested in November after Border Patrol officers allegedly found pot on his tour bus.

Although settling such petty cases is usually done by mail, E! News reported Tuesday Hudspeth County Attorney Kit Bramblett said he thinks Nelson should pay a fine and entertain the court by singing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" as community service.

"You bet your ass I ain't gonna be mean to Willie Nelson," Bramblett told the Big Bend Sentinel newspaper.
