SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- U.S. hip-hop star Dr. Dre's "I Need a Doctor" video featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey premiered Thursday on MTV and VEVO, Interscope Records said.

"This is a very unique song, very personal and groundbreaking so when I first heard the track I knew it was something I had to do because I like to do things that are different and innovative," the video's director, Allen Hughes, said in a statement. "Besides knowing Dre for 20 years, I felt compelled to do this as a fan and as a connoisseur of popular culture I wanted to be a part of this event because it's from the last album that a large amount of people will listen to from beginning to end."

The 7 1/2-minute film includes private home video footage from Dr. Dre in a retrospective of his life and career, as well as a car crash that totaled a real Ferrari Modena, Interscope said.

"I Need a Doctor" is the second track from Dr. Dre's forthcoming third and final solo album, "Detox." Dr. Dre, Eminem and Skylar Grey recently performed the song for the first time on the Grammy Awards show and the track debuted at No. 1 on iTunes.
