NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger made a surprise appearance in New York as part of a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert.
Rolling Stone magazine reported the 66-year-old rocker appeared on stage at Madison Square Garden Friday night to perform alongside pop star Fergie in a rendition of the Stones' hit "Gimmie Shelter."
Jagger also performed a duet with U2 lead singer Bono of the U2 hit song "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of."
Other highlights included Aretha Franklin singing "New York, New York," rocker Lenny Kravitz performing "Think" and rocker Lou Reed performing "Sweet Jane." Beck and Metallica's James Hetfield also performed.
Rolling Stone magazine said singer Billy Joel paired with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for a rendition of Joel's "New York State of Mind" Thursday during the first day of the Hall of Fame anniversary celebration.
