Kate Winslet stars in new film 'The Mountain Between Us'

May 31 (UPI) -- 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for Kate Winslet's upcoming movie, The Mountain Between Us, on Wednesday.

The film, based on a novel by the same title written by Charles Martin, centers on an airplane crash in a mountain range. Two passengers, complete strangers prior to the incident, forge a relationship and struggle to survive while trekking through hundreds of miles of wilderness.

Winslet stars alongside British actor Idris Elba.

Chris Weitz and J. Mills Goodloe wrote the screenplay based on Martin's book and the movie also features actors Beau Bridges and Dermot Mulroney

The film, directed by Hany Abu-Assad, will be released on October 20.
