'Sully' tops the North American box office with $35.5M

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Tom Hanks' fact-based, flight drama Sully is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $35.5 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is When the Bough Breaks with $15 million, followed by Don't Breathe at No. 3 with $8.2 million, Suicide Squad at No. 4 with $5.7 million and The Wild Life at No. 5 with $3.4 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Kubo and the Two Strings at No. 6 with $3.2 million, Pete's Dragon at No. 7 with $2.9 million, Bad Moms at No. 8 with $2.8 million, Hell or High Water at No. 9 with $2.6 million and Sausage Party at No. 10 with $2.3 million.
