Keira Knightley: I've worn wigs for years

LONDON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Keira Knightley says she's secretly been wearing wigs for years.

The 31-year-old English actress made the revelation in a recent interview with InStyle U.K. magazine while discussing her beauty routine.

"I have dyed my hair virtually every color imaginable for different films," Knightley said. "It got so bad that my hair literally began to fall out of my head!"

"For the past five years I've used wigs," she revealed. "Which is the greatest thing that's ever happened to my hair."

Knightley, who has sported numerous shades of blonde and brunette, said her hair has gotten healthier since the birth of her first child. She and husband James Righton welcomed daughter Edie in May 2015.

"I have naturally crazy, curly hair, and since I've had the baby it's become 10 times thicker," she shared. "My new approach [to beauty] is, 'Do what you can remember, and don't worry about it too much.'"

Knightley, a longtime face of Chanel, told the brand in May that her idea of beauty is something "totally true to itself." The actress will star in Collateral Beauty with Will Smith and Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
