CANNES, France, May 20 (UPI) -- A new trailer of the controversial documentary of Amy Winehouse's life, titled Amy, was released after the film debuted at Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday.

While the first trailer debuted and a short clip was already released, this trailer is the first to show the singer's toxic relationship with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Winehouse who died at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning in July 2011, is heard saying, "I fell in love with someone who I would have died for...and that's like a real drug, isn't it?"

The documentary first came under fire when family members of the "Back to Black" singer claimed the film was "misleading and contains some basic untruths."

Last month, they issued a statement, reported by Rolling Stone, saying "The Winehouse family would like to disassociate themselves from the forthcoming film about their much missed and beloved Amy."

Film critics took a liking to the film including Stephen Dalton from The Hollywood Reporter who calls is "tender, intimate documentary portrait."
