'Lost' actor Daniel Dae Kim joins cast of 'Divergent' sequel 'Insurgent'

The actor last starred in the CBS remake of series "Hawaii Five-0."

LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- Daniel Dae Kim has joined the cast of Insurgent.

The 45-year-old Lost and Hawaii 5-0 actor will portray Jack Kang in the sequel to Divergent. The character is a member of the Candor faction, a societal division known for honesty and trustworthiness.

The story continues Tris (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James) and Caleb's (Ansel Elgort) fight against the alliance that seeks to destroy them. Eric (Jai Courtney), Jeanine (Kate Winslet), Marcus (Ray Stevenson) will return in the movie, and new characters include Johanna (Octavia Spencer) and Marlene (Suki Waterhouse).

Divergent has earned over $267 million since its release March 21. The film and its sequels are based on the young adult novels of the same name by Veronica Roth. The third book, Allegient, will be split into two parts for 2016 and 2017.

Insurgent is scheduled for release March 20, 2015.
