LOS ANGELES, April 28 (UPI) -- The Fault in Our Stars has released a new, extended trailer.

The preview features main character Hazel Lancaster (Shailene Woodley), and highlights her relationship with beau Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort).

The upcoming movie is based on John Green's 2012 novel of the same name. The story follows Hazel, a 16-year-old cancer patient, as she learns to deal with her illness. She meets Augustus, an amputee and cancer survivor, at a support group meeting, and the two fall in love.

The relationship is not without tragedy, and the film adaptation appears to be a tearjerker like the novel. The movie is a source of both excitement and consternation for fans concerned about how the novel will translate to screen.

The Fault in Our Stars debuts in theaters on June 6.
