'Star Trek' tops DVD sales and rental charts

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- "Star Trek: Into Darkness" is the top-selling DVD and No. 1 rental in the United States, Rentrak announced.

Coming in at No. 2 on the DVD and Blu-ray sales chart for the week ending Sept. 15 is "The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Sixth Season," followed by "Now You See Me" at No. 3, "Homeland: The Complete Second Season" at No. 4 and "Supernatural: The Complete Eighth Season" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are "Epic" at No. 6, "The Walking Dead: Season 3" at No. 7, "The Great Gatsby" at No. 8, "Castle: The Complete Fifth Season" at No. 9 and "Sons of Anarchy: Season 5" at No. 10.

The No. 2 DVD and Blu-ray rental for the week ended Sept. 14 is "Now You See Me."

"Oblivion" is No. 3, "Pain & Gain" is No. 4, "Olympus Has Fallen" is No. 5, "Empire State" is No. 6, "The Place Beyond the Pines" is No. 7, "Peeples" is No. 8, "42" ais No. 9 and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" is No. 10.
