LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Nominees at Sunday's Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles will be presented with goodie bags valued at $47,802, organizers said.

Noting the worth of the swag harkens close to America's 2011 median household income of $50,054, NBC News reported this will be the least-expensive gift bag nominees have gotten in five years.

The 2010 Oscar nominee swag bags, which included vouchers for African safaris, were valued at $90,000.

"I am confident that having a $48,000 gift bag versus a $58,000 gift bag will go unnoticed by Amy Adams, Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence," Lash Fary, founder of marketing firm Distinctive Assets, which has put together the nominee gift bag for the past 11 years, told NBC News via email.

Among the items in this year's bags are gift certificates for Australian vacations, interior decorating services, weight-loss retreats, tubes of expensive hand cream, water filtration devices, condoms and passes to the VIP clubs at airports.

Fary said the main reason for the drop in value of this year's bag is the number of vouchers for vacations has been reduced.

"Redeeming 12 trips in one year is difficult for anyone ... let alone a busy celebrity," Fary said.
