BEIJING, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Actors Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen will head to China to shoot their upcoming film, "Outcast," a 12th century war romance, filmmakers said.

Photography on the film began Thursday in Beijing, though shooting with the two leading actors is scheduled to begin in April. The film will be released simultaneously in November in China and the United States, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

"Outcast" will be made in English, though it officially qualifies as a co-production under guidelines stipulated by China's State Administration of Radio, film and Television. The Yunnan Film Group is providing more than half of the film's budget, and Australian-U.S. Arclight Films will also back the project, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Canadian director Nick Powell said he will bring "just a few people" from Canada to work on the film, though the production crew will be made up 90 percent of Chinese personnel.
