LONDON, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Silver-screen vixen Brigitte Bardot once snuck into Michael Caine's hotel room and demanded he go dancing with her, Caine told The Sunday Telegraph.

Caine, a little-known actor at the age of 31, said a 30-year-old Bardot woke him in his hotel bedroom one evening in 1964 while the two were working on separate films in Spain, he said in an interview to promote his forthcoming autobiography, "The Elephant to Hollywood."

"I went to bed early one night, because I was completely knackered and I had to be up at six the next day, and I felt a hand on my shoulder and opened my eyes. It was Brigitte Bardot. She had paid the bloody doorman to let her in, and she said, 'We're going out dancing, Michael, you've got to come with us.'"

Caine assented to the dance, though he told the Telegraph they "never had a romance."

Bardot, who was filming "Shalako," had only recently divorced. Caine was in Spain to film "Play Dirty."
