LOS ANGELES, July 6 (UPI) -- Spanish actor Javier Bardem says he is to play a rock star in a Season 2 episode of TV's "Glee."

Bardem won an Oscar for his work in the film "No Country for Old Men." He will soon be seen opposite Julie Roberts in "Eat Pray Love," a film directed by "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy.

Bardem told EW.com he asked Murphy during the movie shoot if he could be a guest star on "Glee," and Murphy said yes.

"We're going to rock the house," the actor told the Web site. "We're going to do some heavy metal -- Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."

Season 2 of the music-themed series "Glee" is slated to begin in the fall.
