HOLLYWOOD, May 29 (UPI) -- U.S. diva Mariah Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, says somebody in their family is expecting a baby, but wouldn't say whether it's his wife.

Asked if Carey is pregnant, Cannon said on E!'s "Daily 10" Thursday: "That's news to me," UsMagazine.com reported.

He then joked, "I do want to make a big announcement ... Russell terrier puppy Zha Zha is pregnant again!"

Rumors about a possible Carey pregnancy intensified after the 41-year-old dropped out of Tyler Perry's new film, set to begin shooting next month.

"She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to," a Carey representative told UsMagazine.com. "More than that I cannot comment further."
