UFC's Conor McGregor to appear in 'Game of Thrones' according to Dana White

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will star in Season 7 of Game of Thrones according to UFC president Dana White.

"I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show," White said recently during an interview on Fox Sports Live.

"And I'm glad he did it. It'll be great," he continued.

The outspoken McGregor has yet to comment on the role or who he might be portraying. Notably, the fighter made a cameo apperance in video game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that starred Game of Thrones mainstay Kit Harington.

McGregor recently made headlines for obtaining a boxing license in California which has furthered speculation that he wishes to challenge retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. to a fight.
