WASHINGTON, June 3 (UPI) -- Prairie Home Companion host Garrison Keillor announced he is "fortunate" after suffering a seizure over Memorial Day Weekend, Keillor announced Thursday.

Keillor was reportedly struck between a string of shows at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Virginia.

He was treated in Washington, D.C. before performing shows on Friday and Saturday, but is reportedly fine and was heading to Atlanta for a taping of his long-time radio show on Saturday, said publicist David O'Neill.

Keillor said in Facebook posting he also did further testing at the Mayo Clinic.

"Saw an MRI image of my skull with a black hole where a previous stroke struck close to the language center of the brain, so I came away feeling vastly fortunate," he wrote. The anti-convulsant he is on makes him feel lethargic, but wrote "I intend to fight this."

"I have five more shows and want them to be terrific," said Keillor, who will retire in early July. "Plenty of time for lethargy in August."
