Nick Jonas recounts 'embarrassing' first meeting with Emilia Clarke

LONDON, June 2 (UPI) -- Nick Jonas recounted what he said is an "embarrassing" story about his and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke's first meeting.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw alongside Clarke Thursday, Jonas said he had a few drinks before introducing himself.

"I've actually already met Emilia at the Oscars afterparty. But it wasn't like, 'I'm a fan of the show.' Actually, that was part of it, but I was like, 'I'm also a fan of your Instagram.' Which I don't know if it is a weird thing to say," the 23-year-old "Close" singer said.

"She posts great stuff -- like insight into the show, behind-the-scenes pictures and stuff," Jonas explained. "I immediately walked away and was like, 'That sounded stupid.' That was maybe after one or two cocktails that I said that. It was highly embarrassing."

The Me Before You actress, who also plays Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO series Game of Thrones, said it was a flattering comment, however. "I'm proud of my Instagram," Clarke said.

During another interview, Clarke went solo in a speedy press junket as part of promo for her upcoming film.

While participating in a "rapid-fire" Q&A session with E! News in a clip uploaded Thursday, Clarke divulged little details about her life, like when she woke up that morning (2 a.m.) and the first person she spoke to that day ("my mum!") before laughing at herself.
