'Game of Thrones' actress Carice van Houten is pregnant

LOS ANGELES, March 19 (UPI) -- Dutch actress Carice van Houten and her partner, Australian actor Guy Pearce, are expecting their first child.

Van Houten, 39, plays Melisandre on HBO's Game of Thrones. Pearce, 48, is known for his work in the films Memento and L.A. Confidential.

"Carice and Guy are thrilled to be expecting their first child," van Houten's publicist told The Hollywood Reporter.

The baby's gender and anticipated birthdate were not revealed.

Pearce announced last October that he and his wife, Kate Mestitz, had split up after 18 years of marriage.
