Benedict Wong joins 'Doctor Strange' alongside Cumberbatch, McAdams

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Actor Benedict Wong is the latest to join Marvel's upcoming supernatural flick Doctor Strange, joining lead actor, Sherlock and The Imitation Game star Benedict Cumberbatch.

The British Martian actor, 46, will play Wong, the martial arts-fighting manservant to Cumberbatch's Stephen Vincent Strange character, Hollywood Reporter announced Thursday.

Wong, the thespian who also plays Kublai Khan in Netflix's Marco Polo, joins Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen in the upcoming hero flick, expected for a Nov. 4 debut.

Wong's character stems from the 1960s Strange Tales comics and was created by Marvel artist Steve Ditko. The sidekick character tends to Dr. Strange's affairs while also performing healing tasks and assisting in supernatural matters.
