NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Christina Milian says she and ex-boyfriend Lil Wayne still love each other despite their breakup. The 34-year-old singer discussed her split from the 33-year-old rapper in an interview with HuffPost Live on Monday. Milian and Lil Wayne were together a year before calling it quits in September.

"We're adults and we understand maybe it's not the right time for us, but we do love each other," she shared. "Eventually, who knows. There might be a right time, [or] this might be just it. At the end of the day, we're still here [and] we talk to each other still every day."
Milian also opened up about the relationship on The Meredith Vieira Show the same day. She told Vieira she and Lil Wayne remain friends, and said the chemistry was still there for their sexy "Do It" music video, which the pair filmed after their breakup.
"I think we understood that the relationship is just not working at the moment for us," she said. "We're both extremely busy, and rather than trying to force it and make something work that's just not working in the moment, we're just like, 'Let's settle and chill out for a second.'"
Milian shares 5-year-old daughter Violet Madison Nash with ex-husband The-Dream. She and the singer eloped in September 2009, and separated three months after their wedding. Lil Wayne is father to four children by four previous partners.
