LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Reese Witherspoon recently opened up on Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe about how she thinks the time is right for another Legally Blonde sequel.

"I think we're ready to see Elle and see what she's up to lately," the actress said Thursday of her character Elle Woods while answering a fan's question about a possible Legally Blonde 3.

The 39-year-old even believes its the right time for the franchise to return in light of Hillary Clinton running for president.

"A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it," Witherspoon said. "I actually think it's kind of great right now because we're talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women."

"I think it'd be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court Justice or somebody who runs for office, like president," she added.

Witherspoon acknowledged however that this was not a confirmation that the film was in development or likely even to happen. "Call MGM, I have no idea!" she told fans referring to the studio in charge of the film.
