OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Zendaya has taken to social media to slam Modeliste Magazine for shrinking her hips and thighs in photos for their latest issue.

The former Disney star aired out her concerns over the pictures Tuesday by posting side-by-side comparisons on her Instagram account.

"Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19-year-old hips and torso quite manipulated," Zendaya captioned the snapshots. "These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have."

"Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love. So I took it upon myself to release the real pic (right side) and I love it," she continued.

Zendaya's post confirms the singer's accusations that her hips and thighs were considerably altered and made to appear thinner in the magazine photos. Despite retouching however, Zendaya did thank the editors for correcting the situation.

"Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue," she concluded.

Back in September, Mattel presented Zendaya with a doll modeled after her 2015 Academy Awards dress and dreadlocks hairstyle that Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic infamously criticized as smelling of "patchouli oil or weed." The comments made national headlines and landed Rancic under fire.
