NASHVILLE, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Rockstar Jack White crashed his neighborhood's annual potluck gathering without any of his fellow neighbors recognizing who he was.

The Grammy Award-winning musician, who has lived in Nashville for years was only spotted by travel writer Jedidiah Jenkins, after his sister texted him a photo from the get-together featuring White.

Jenkins shared the photo on Instagram along with the story behind it.

"My mom helps put on a neighborhood potluck in front of my childhood home. Our little dead-end street is populated primarily with older and quiet people," he wrote. "At the bottom of our street, there is a large gated historic home shrouded in trees. We've never really spotted that neighbor. But we have from time to time heard guitar coming from the garage. This year, without warning, the occupant decided to come mingle with the neighbors."

The neighbors were completely unaware that they were being visited by rock royalty.

"Of course many of them had no idea who he was," Jenkins posted. "Jack White? Nice to meet you.' He apologized for traveling so much."

White last made headlines in September after he got into an altercation with The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney inside a New York City bar. The two rockers exchanged jabs on Twitter with conflicting stories about the incident until the two later reconciled on social media.
