Sarah Hyland trips on stage at Teen Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- While on her way to present the first award of the night, Sarah Hyland tripped, fell, and cursed on stage during the Teen Choice Awards Sunday night.

The Modern Family star was making her way to the microphone alongside Pitch Perfect actor Skylar Astin when she suddenly stumbled over a piece of stage furniture. Able to save herself from more then just a stumble, the 24-year-old then cursed at her misfortune before quickly covering up her mouth.

The cameras caught everything including a smiling Josh Hutcherson trying to contain his laughter.

"I do that sometimes, guys. I'm awkward," she told the audience. Hyland later took to Twitter admitting her accident and taking in stride.

You guys. I tripped. I tripped on camera. I tripped on stage in front of all you.

Modern Family returns for season seven Sept. 23 on ABC.
