Leah Messer faces divorce threats on 'Teen Mom 2'

ELKVIEW, W.Va., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Leah Messer faced divorce threats from husband Jeremy Calvert on Thursday's episode of Teen Mom 2.

While the couple's marriage has indeed since ended, the episode gave insight into the breakdown of their relationship. A fed-up Calvert told the 23-year-old reality star he is filing for divorce amid personal and money issues.

Messer was upset and taken aback, but maintained hope her husband's threat was an empty one while discussing the possibility with a friend. Calvert, meanwhile, complained of his wife's excessive spending and seeming dependence on prescription medication.

"I didn't really plan on it when we got married," he told Messer of their struggles. "You were a great person in the beginning, and then all the sudden it was like you started dwindling away. That's why you get help ... you can't love me if you don't love yourself."

Messer and Calvert share two-year-old daughter Adalynn, and the reality star is also mother to five-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah with ex-husband Corey Simms. A preview for next week's episode of Teen Mom 2 sees Calvert stand firm about the divorce as Messer considers rehab.
