NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Busta Rhymes was jailed after allegedly flinging a container of protein drinks at a fellow gym goer Wednesday night.

TMZ is reporting that the 43-year-old celebrity was released from jail Thursday morning on his own recognizance. Sources say he has been charged with second degree assault.

There is no information about whether the alleged target was hurt, but CBS New York reports the victim refused medical attention at the scene.

"This is another attempt to take advantage of Busta's celebrity status," his lawyer, Scott Leemon, told TMZ. According to him, the allegations are "a bunch of bull."

Thursday morning, Rhymes posted a photo of himself on Instagram, thanking "everyone who helped expedite" Wednesday night's events. "I'm good and we're back to the grind," he wrote.

"Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the [expletive] into GREATNESS. I'm super good."
