LOS ANGELES, July 20 (UPI) -- Actress Demi Moore said she is in "absolute shock" at the news of a dead man found at her home in Beverly Hills.

In a statement released Sunday by her publicist, the 52-year-old actress said, "I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news."

Moore expressed her sadness, saying the event of 21-year-old man's death -- and "the loss of a child" -- was an "unthinkable tragedy." BBC reports the man has been identified as Edenilson Steven Valle.

"My heart goes out to this young man's family and friends," Moore said. "I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time."

The statement comes just after news broke of a previously unidentified man's body found floating in Moore's pool. Authorities confirm the actress was not home at the time of the incident and that foul play is not suspected.

The investigation of Valle's death is still ongoing. Previous reports suggest that the man was a member of the house's staff during an alleged party. A neighbor told Us Weekly Sunday there might not have been a party the night of the incident, although several parties have been thrown by the house's caretaker in recent days.
