WASHINGTON, July 6 (UPI) -- Dave Grohl, 46, proved a broken leg couldn't stop him over the weekend. The Foo Fighters front man took the stage in a cast seated upon a throne.

Grohl broke his leg last month in Sweden after falling off stage, but still managed to perform over the weekend at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

The design of the chair looks much like the iconic Iron Throne from hit HBO series Game of Thrones, although Grohl's was a better fit for rock royalty with its guitar neck base and light up back.

The performance at RFK marked the 20th anniversary of the band's debut self-titled album, and kicked off the band's North America Summer Tour. Entertainment Weekly reported that Grohl mentioned the throne came to him while he was in the hospital on pain medications.

A fan recorded video shows the singer talking about his injury, showing photos and x-rays of this leg and discussing his idea for the throne and the design of it.
