Angela Lansbury, Mark Strong and Penelope Wilton win Olivier Awards

LONDON, April 12 (UPI) -- The West End productions of A View From the Bridge and Sunny Afternoon were the big winners at Sunday's Olivier Awards ceremony in London.

Bridge was named Best Revival of a Play and its star Mark Strong Best Actor in a Play. The Best Director honor went to Ivo Van Hove, who helmed it.

Sunny Afternoon earned the accolades for Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical for John Dagleish and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for George Maguire. Ray Davies was presented with the Autograph Sound Award for Best Score.

Beautiful:The Carole King Musical stars Katie Brayben and Lorna Want went home with the trophies for Best Actress in a Musical and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for their respective portrayals of songwriters Carole King and Cynthia Weil.

King Charles III won the prize for Best New Play, while The Play That Goes Wrong was deemed Best New Comedy.

Penelope Wilton earned the Best Actress in a Play distinction for Taken At Midnight, Angela Lansbury won the Best Supporting Actress in a Play honor for Blithe Spirit and Nathaniel Parker scored the statuette for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies.

The ceremony at the Royal Opera House was hosted by Lenny Henry.
