By Matt Bradwell

HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- While Matthew McConaughey has a new project seemingly every month since the so-called "McConaissance," 20 years ago he was an unknown face auditioning for up-and-coming alternative filmmaker Richard Linklater.

Now, thanks to a Criterion Collection release of Linklater's classic 1976 period piece Dazed and Confused, fans can check out young McConaughey craft that would become arguably his most iconic role.
