Macaulay Culkin not dead, proves it with Weekend at Bernie's' pic

By Brooks Hays

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- A day after rumors that Macaulay Culkin was dead spread across the Internet, the actor proved both he and his sense of humor are alive and well with an Instagram homage to the classic comedy Weekend at Bernie's.

"Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom," Cheesedays (the Instagram handle of Culkin's band) posted on Sunday. Culkin is currently on tour with his New York City-based rock group The Pizza Underground. The sometimes-band, sometimes-art-troupe regularly performs pizza-themed covers of Velvet Underground tunes. The actor most famous for his role as Kevin in the Home Alone series was in Austin, Texas, with the band when rumors of his passing first began making waves on the web.

Culkin and his bandmates were booed off the stage at a show in the United Kingdom earlier this year.

The dark comedy Weekend at Bernie's, which debuted in 1989, featured two corporate employees forced to carry around their dead boss around for a weekend, pretending that he was still alive in order to save their own lives.
