LONDON, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are one step closer to making it official.

The 53-year-old actor and his barrister love have obtained a marriage license at Chelsea Town Hall in London, Us Weekly reports.

The pair, engaged since April, listed their names as George Timothy Clooney and Amal Ramzi Alamuddin on the certificate. In typical London fashion the document was later placed behind a glass cover at the town hall for everyone to see.

Insiders say the couple is planning to have a fall wedding that might take place at Clooney's Lake Como pad in Italy.
