ISTANBUL, Turkey, July 18 (UPI) -- Caroline Wozniacki took a veiled dig at ex Rory McIlroy on Thursday.

The 24-year-old Danish tennis star posted a picture of herself in heels on Instagram, and captioned the photo, "Out and about in Instanbul. It's been 3 years since I have worn heels on a normal day out. #feels good #looks good #shopping #highheels #sun." Wozniacki and the 25-year-old Northern Irish professional golfer were together for three years, and are registered with the Women's Tennis Association and the PGA Tour as being the same height, 5'10".

The pair started dating in 2011, and announced their engagement on New Year's Eve last year. McIlroy called off the engagement in May, the same week their wedding invitations went out.

"The problem is mine," he explained at the time. "The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn't ready for all that marriage entails. There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people. I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we've had."
