LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian has opened up about daughter North West.

The 33-year-old reality star spoke at length about motherhood and more in a recent interview with E! News. North turned one year old June 15, and is Kardashian's first and only child with husband Kanye West.

"I love being a mom!" she begins. "It's the most rewarding feeling. I really love every phase. Just the way my daughter laughs with me, all of the small things in life you appreciate."

"I took a hiatus after I had the baby, and found it challenging to start working again because I didn't want to spend the time away," she admits. "It's been an adjustment trying to balance a career and motherhood for sure, but the key is to prioritize. You become more selective and work on projects that are so meaningful because you want every other waking moment spent with your family."

The star advises other mothers to remember "to make time for yourself," and says, "If you feel good, you will be happy in your career and family life and everyone is happy!"
