Quentin Tarantino says he will rework script for 'The Hateful Eight' after leak

LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- During a a live reading of his shelved script, The Hateful Eight, director Quentin Tarantino revealed the project may not be dead for long.

Tarantino put the project on hold after the script, which details the story of eight travelers stuck in a saloon during a blizzard in post-Civil War Wyoming, was leaked without his permission.

Actors who have worked with Tarantino in the past -- Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, James Parks and Michael Madsen -- helped perform the reading. “We’ve been rehearsing this for the last three days and we’re not bad,” Tarantino told the crowd.

The performance took place at the Theatre at Ace Hotel and it took about 3 1/2 hours for the actors to get through the five-chapter Western.

“I’m working on a second draft and I will do a third draft, but we’re reading from the first draft,” Tarantino said. “The Chapter 5 here will not be the Chapter 5 later, so this will be the only time it is seen ever.”
