LEROY 'SUGARFOOT' BONNER: Funk music singer Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner has died of cancer in Trotwood, Ohio, his family said. He was 69.
TMZ said Monday the Ohio Players lead singer died during the weekend. Exactly when he died and what type of cancer he suffered were not immediately reported.
"While his family, friends, colleagues, and fans mourn his passing, they celebrate fondly his memory, music and legacy," a posting on his Facebook page said.
The Ohio Players, whose roots date to 1959 as the Ohio Untouchables, are known for their hits "Love Rollercoaster" and "Fire." The group disbanded in 2002.
DESTINY'S CHILD: Michelle Williams says she and Kelly Rowland aren't performing with their former Destiny's Child partner Beyonce at the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans.
"Destiny's Child -- Love Songs," a greatest-hits CD set for release Tuesday, will feature the song "Nuclear," the first new recording by the vocal group in eight years.
The album sparked reports that the three will reunite on stage when headliner Beyonce performs the Super Bowl halftime show next month.
But Williams told WRUG Media the buzz about an upcoming reunion is not true.
"I'm going to be in the musical 'Fela!,'" she said, referring to the stage production's upcoming world tour. "I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true. ... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."
CHRIS BROWN: Frank Ocean told police Chris Brown punched him during a group argument over a parking spot outside a Los Angeles-area recording studio, TMZ reported.
Six people, including the two recording artists, were involved in the fight Sunday night at Westlake Studio.
Police were called to the scene to break it up, but no arrests have been made.
When they arrived, investigators spoke to Ocean, but Brown was already gone, TMZ said.
The celebrity news website cited unnamed sources close to Brown as saying Ocean and his entourage started the argument by blocking Brown's car when he was trying to leave.
The witnesses said one of Ocean's friends attacked Brown when he attempted to shake the hand of his fellow singer, then one of Brown's companions hit Ocean's friend in retaliation.
Ocean then attacked Brown and a brawl erupted, TMZ said.
Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting and threatening his then-girlfriend Rihanna during a heated argument in a car in 2009. He was placed on five years' probation and ordered to complete community service. He and Rihanna recently reconciled.
Last year, he and Canadian singer Drake had an altercation at a New York nightclub, which left eight people injured. No arrests were made.
JANUARY JONES: Hollywood actress January Jones says frequent coloring has caused her hair to start falling out.
"I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps," Jones, 35, told the British magazine Grazia Daily during a recent interview at Utah's Sundance Film Festival where she was promoting her new movie "Sweetwater." "I like it all colors. It makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde. My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde. He says, 'Mama.'
"I've been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I'm going to have to shave it off and wear a wig," said Jones, who is best known for her work on TV's "Mad Men."
