ORLANDO, Fla., June 3 (UPI) -- Florida's Walt Disney World said it is bumping up the price of its single-day ticket nearly 5 percent to $89.

The $4 increase comes on the heels of an increase in the basic ticket price at nearby Universal Orlando to $88, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel said Sunday.

Walt Disney World also adjusted the prices of its other ticket options upward with the stiffest increases applied to multi-visit passes. The Sentinel said passes for four, five and seven days are the most-purchased ticket options.

The biggest price increase was the season pass sold to Florida residents. The price was increased 11.1 percent to $299 per year.

The new price points took effect Sunday.
