'Immortals' atop box-office mountain

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Greek mythology action film "Immortals" topped the weekend U.S. box office with $32 million in gross receipts, edging out "Jack and Jill" at $26 million.

Both films debuted over the weekend to knock "Puss in Boots" ($25.5 million) from No. 1 to No. 3 in the animated film's third week.

"Tower Heist" with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy and an ensemble cast, was No. 4 with $13.2 million in its second week.

"J. Edgar" debuted at No. 5 with $11.5 million; "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" was sixth with $5.9 million; "In Time" seventh with $4.2 million; "Paranormal Activity 3" eighth with more than $3.6 million; and "Footloose" ninth with $2.7 million.

"Real Steel" rounded out the Top 10 with $2 million.
